Uninstall a Program

Windows has a system built into it for uninstalling programs. You can use this system, called Add/Remove Programs in Windows 95/98/ME/2000 and Add or Remove Programs in Windows XP; in Windows Vista it is Programs and Features to remove programs from your computer.

You can also use this feature to see what programs are installed. Note that not all the programs installed on your computer will show up in this list. Check the hard drive on your computer to get a full idea of what is actually installed. You should avoid simply deleting folders off of your hard drive because most programs will install themselves in several areas, so simply removing the program's folder will not work.
